Living Well In The Moment
So as you know I’ve been on this month long journey of little to no sugar and I have to say a few things have have given me ah ha moments.
First I mentioned that cravings stopped and I wanted to know if it was eating less sugar and taking magnesium on a regular basis that contributed to that when I looked up the information low and behold: consuming the prper amounts of magnesium and healthy proteins are instrumental in lessening or eradicating sugar cravings.
Now as I just finished eating a delicious short rib burger with a side of Brussels Sprouts from Whitman’s in NYC I was intrigued that I seemed to be fuller quicker than I’d normally be and so now I’m wondering did my stomach shrink? Hmm I doubt it or am I just satiated sooner.
I had read before (and experienced first hand) that when the body gets the proper amounts of minerals, vitamins protein fats etc and is allowed to absorb them in the optimal manner .. one would notice less overall hunger between meals and the cravings would also continue to dissipate. Why? Because the body is getting exactly what it needs so there’s no need to try and scavenge for it via cravings and or consuming empty calories.
Keep in mind I’m not follow a specific diet I’m simply cutting out sugar and eating more healthy proteins and fats along with fruits and vegetables. I’ve never been a one size fits all type of girl but I’ve always been one to seek what works best for me. Especially as it relates to my overall health.
